The Jack Absolute series follows a roguish British adventurer through the major conflicts of the late 18th century, including the American Revolution. Jack is part soldier, part spy, and part gentleman rogue, inspired by a character from Sheridan’s 1775 play The Rivals. The series has five entries published between 2003 and 2006.
The books are swashbuckling historical adventures with a lighter tone than some of Humphreys’ other work. Jack’s charm, fighting ability, and knack for getting into trouble drive the plots, which take him across battlefields, ballrooms, and back alleys on two continents.
