The Hubbard’s Point/Black Hall series ran for seven books from 2001 to 2014. Set in fictional towns along the Connecticut coast, the series follows different families and relationships across each installment. Firefly Beach, Safe Harbor, and True Blue established the setting, while The Perfect Summer and Beach Girls expanded the cast of characters connected to the coastal community.
Later entries Last Kiss (2008) and The Night Before (2014) added suspense elements to the family drama that defined the earlier books. The series works as a long-running portrait of a coastal community where the past has a way of washing ashore, and Luanne Rice’s affection for the setting comes through clearly in the writing.
