Heroines of WWII is a multi-author series of inspirational novels set during World War II. Each book focuses on a different woman’s wartime role — from code-breakers and resistance fighters to nurses and spies. Rachel Scott McDaniel contributed The Cryptographer’s Dilemma (2021), and the series includes work by many Christian historical romance authors.
The twelve books span 2021 to 2023 and cover a range of wartime settings. The Cryptographer’s Dilemma deals with code-breaking, Saving Mrs. Roosevelt (2021) puts its heroine near the First Lady, and Escape from Amsterdam (2022) moves the action to occupied Europe. A Rose for the Resistance (2022) and Season of My Enemy (2022) explore life under occupation from different angles.
Because each book has a different author and protagonist, the series works as standalone reads. There is no single through-line connecting all twelve, which means readers can start with whichever setting or wartime role interests them most. The Starlet Spy (2023) and Capturing Hope (2023) close out the collection.
