Heroes in Hell is a shared-world anthology series that began in 1986 and has been running for nearly four decades. The premise places historical and fictional figures together in a version of Hell where they interact, scheme, and conflict. The early entries (Heroes in Hell, Rebels in Hell, The Gates of Hell, all 1986) established the setting.
Jason Cordova is among many contributors to the series, which has published twenty-six volumes through Monsters in Hell (2024). The series was created by Janet Morris and has featured contributions from numerous fantasy and science fiction authors over the years. The longevity of the franchise is unusual for shared-world fiction.
