Heirs of Chicagoland is Chloe Neill’s sequel series to the Chicagoland Vampires, set in the same version of Chicago but following the next generation. The main character is Elisa Sullivan, the only vampire ever born (rather than made), and the daughter of Merit and Ethan Sullivan. Elisa has spent years in Paris but returns to Chicago to work at her family’s Cadogan House, where she has to prove herself outside her parents’ shadow.
Elisa also has a secret: she carries a monster inside her, a dark power she has spent years learning to control. The series pairs her with Connor Keene, the son of the Apex of the North American Central Pack, giving the books a werewolf-vampire romance angle. Together they face threats to Chicago’s supernatural community, from rogue magic users to political upheaval among the city’s vampire houses.
The series includes six entries: four full-length novels, a novella in the Heroic Hearts anthology, and the final book Cold Curses. Readers should start with the original Chicagoland Vampires before picking up Wild Hunger, since the sequel series builds heavily on events and relationships from the first series.
