The Healers of Glastamear series opens with The Pogrom of Mages (2015) and follows a world where people with magical abilities are actively hunted. The early books, published in quick succession through 2015 and 2016, cover the persecution of mages by political and military forces, the alliances formed to resist that violence, and the cost of survival in a hostile world.
The fourth book, The Conclave of Lords and Mages, suggests a shift toward political negotiation and power-brokering, while Liberation by the Elf-Blood Mage (2019) brings the series to a resolution that its title implies. The author, Charles Williamson, works in several genres but the Glastamear series shows the most sustained world-building across his fiction.
Start with The Pogrom of Mages and read in order, as each book builds directly on events from the previous one. Readers who enjoy fantasy with strong political conflict and an underdog narrative will find plenty to engage with here.
