The Harmony series by Jayne Castle (a pen name of Jayne Ann Krentz) is set on the colonized world of Harmony, where human settlers have developed psychic abilities after losing their connection to Earth. The planet is riddled with alien catacombs and ruins that hold both treasure and danger. Ghost hunters who work for the Guilds are among the most powerful people on Harmony, and the series frequently pairs these hunters with women who have their own unusual talents.
Starting with Bridal Jitters in 1999, the series has grown to nineteen books over more than two decades. Each novel focuses on a new romance, though the world-building and supporting characters carry over from book to book. A favorite element among readers is the dust bunnies, small alien creatures who are cute but surprisingly fierce.
The Harmony books can be read as standalones, but long-time readers will get more out of the recurring characters and the expanding picture of life on this alien world. The series continues to add new entries, with Enter the Nightmare scheduled for 2026.
