The Halle Pumas series by Dana Marie Bell is set in the small town of Halle, Pennsylvania, home to a pride of puma shifters who live among the human population. Each book follows a different couple from the pride as they find their mates. The Wallflower kicks things off with Emma Carter and Max Cannon, the Alpha of the Halle pride, who recognizes Emma as his mate despite her shy nature.
The series includes full-length novels, novellas, and The Ornament holiday novellas (Max and Emma, Simon and Becky, Adrian and Sheri), which revisit the couples during the Christmas season. Sweet Dreams, Cat of a Different Color, and the other main entries each introduce a new pair of mates while building out the pride dynamics and the small-town setting.
Halle Pumas is the first of Bell’s two connected Halle series. The Halle Shifters series picks up in the same town but shifts focus to bear shifters and other supernatural residents. Some books, like Little Red and Steel Beauty, also appear in the Poconos Pack series because they bridge both storylines. Reading the Halle Pumas books first gives the best foundation for the larger Halle world.
