Peyton’s mother slipped into a magical coma, and the explanation that follows changes everything: Peyton is a witch with powers she cannot control, and unless she attends Goody Magic Academy to learn how to manage them, she is a danger to herself and everyone around her. The academy turns out to have its own complications, specifically a love triangle between a kitchen worker with golden eyes and an arrogant vampire prince who is hiding behind a dishwasher apron.
The bigger revelation comes when Peyton learns she can shift into a dragon, which links her fate to the male witch in ways she had not expected. The school’s High Priestess has been watching from the start, and her envy of Peyton’s power drives the central conflict through the series, eventually escalating to a demand involving the Dragon Nexus, an artifact that can control all dragons.
The series ran from 2020 through 2024 and grew to ten books, making it one of Guida’s longer-running academy projects. The forbidden romance angle and the discovery-of-powers structure will be familiar to readers of her Legacy Academy work, but Goody Magic Academy develops its own mythology around witches and dragon shifters.
