Elliott Kay’s Good Intentions series began in 2011 and has grown to six books over more than a decade. The story starts when Alex Carlisle, an ordinary college student, wanders into a cemetery ritual gone wrong and accidentally becomes the master of both Rachel, a warrior angel, and Lorelei, a succubus. What follows is a mix of supernatural chaos, romantic entanglements, and escalating threats from demons, cultists, and other forces that take notice of Alex’s unusual household.
The series is set in Seattle and leans heavily into its blend of comedy and action. The earlier books focus on Alex adjusting to life with his two companions while dealing with college, relationships, and demonic politics. Later entries raise the stakes as the consequences of past events catch up with the characters. Low-Key Calamities collects shorter fiction from across Kay’s various series, while Devil In the Details brings the main storyline forward with a new full-length entry in 2025.
