Glenna McReynolds published these standalone romances over a fifteen-year stretch, starting with Thieves in the Night and Scout’s Honor in 1987 and ending with River of Eden in 2002. Most of them were part of the Bantam Loveswept line, the category romance imprint that launched her career. The stories range from lighthearted contemporary romances to more adventurous fare with heists, spies, and exotic locations.
Thieves in the Night pairs a secret agent retrieving classified documents with a jewel thief after an emerald necklace, and their heists collide in entertaining fashion. Avenging Angel, published in 1993, won the RITA Award and is widely considered her strongest standalone work. The later River of Eden, published in 2002, was her final book under the McReynolds name before she shifted to writing as Tara Janzen full-time.
