The Girl in the Box series begins with Alone, in which seventeen-year-old Sienna Nealon’s sheltered life collapses when her mother disappears and strangers break into their home. Sienna discovers she has powers she doesn’t understand, and she’s quickly drawn into a conflict between the Directorate, a government agency that monitors superhumans, and various threats that want to use or destroy people like her.
The series has grown to more than 60 books, following Sienna from a confused teenager into a formidable force in her own right. Robert J. Crane releases several books per year, and the series shows no signs of slowing down, with new installments continuing into 2026.
