Ghostville Elementary ran for 17 books between 2003 and 2007. In this series, Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones created a school where ghosts and living students coexist. Unlike the Bailey School Kids, where the supernatural element is always up for debate, Ghostville Elementary features confirmed ghosts who attend classes alongside the human kids.
The series covers a full range of school and holiday themes, from Ghost Class and Stage Fright to A Very Haunted Holiday and Red, White, and Boo! The books mix humor with mild spookiness, keeping things fun rather than frightening for the target audience of early chapter book readers.
