Joy vanishes while looking for her best friend and ends up trapped inside the New Orleans criminal underworld controlled by vampire mafia. Enzo, the most feared enforcer in that world, recognizes her as his fated mate almost immediately, a fact neither of them is particularly comfortable with. The series opens with that collision and follows the fallout as Joy’s presence disrupts the fragile politics of the vampire court.
The second book escalates the conflict when Joy’s powers flare out of control and injure the vampire king’s mate, putting her and Enzo in the crosshairs of everyone with power in the city. Enzo makes a deal with the Dark Fae Mafia king to buy protection, but when a prized Fae stone goes missing, all blame lands on the enforcer. The third book closes out the trilogy as those threads come to a head.
The series shares its New Orleans setting and vampire mafia world with the French Quarter Vampire King series, and readers who enjoy one will find the other adds context rather than repeating it. The Enforcer books have a grittier street-level focus compared to the court-centered King series.
