The Hunter’s Blades Trilogy returns to large-scale warfare as an enormous orc army, led by the unusually intelligent King Obould Many-Arrows, sweeps across the North. The Thousand Orcs sets the invasion in motion, and Drizzt finds himself separated from his companions as the situation deteriorates.
The Lone Drow follows Drizzt operating alone in the wilderness, waging a guerrilla campaign against the orc forces. The Two Swords brings the full conflict to a head with siege battles and personal duels. The trilogy is one of the most military-focused arcs in the Drizzt saga, with the orc king Obould proving to be a more complex antagonist than the typical fantasy villain.
