The Fluke My Life series is Reynolds at her most playful. Each title includes a motion verb (Running, Stumbling, Tossed, Drawn) that captures how the heroines crash into love without planning to. The books are set in the same neighborhood, and the women are connected through friendship and family ties, which gives the series a warm, community feel.
Published between 2017 and 2019 through Montlake Romance, these four books are lighter and funnier than Reynolds’s suspense-tinged work. The heroes are still classic Reynolds alphas, but the situations that bring the couples together tend to be more comedic than dangerous. Running into Love set the tone with a heroine whose life keeps going sideways in the best possible way, and the subsequent books follow that same energy.
