Flat Stanley’s Worldwide Adventures takes the character Jeff Brown created in 1964 and sends him on trips around the globe. The series began in 2009 and spans seventeen books, each set in a different country or region. Stanley visits Mount Rushmore, goes on an Egyptian adventure, experiences Japanese ninja culture, and more.
The books were written by other children’s authors continuing Brown’s legacy after his death. Each adventure is short and aimed at young readers, combining geography lessons with humor and action. The series has helped keep the Flat Stanley character popular with new generations of kids and teachers who use the books as starting points for classroom projects about world cultures.
