The Fence series by C.S. Pacat began as individual issues in 2017 before being collected into numbered volumes. The collected editions — Vol. 1 through Vol. 7: Challengers — run from 2018 to 2025 and are the easiest way to read the story in sequence. Several of the volumes also have Spanish-language editions listed here (the “Escuela de esgrima” entries), reflecting the series’ international reach.
The volume subtitles trace the story’s shape: Rivals, Rise, Redemption, and Challengers suggest a long arc of competition and character growth. Vol. 7: Challengers, published in 2025, is the most recent installment. New readers should start with the individual issues or Vol. 1 rather than jumping into the middle, as the series builds its cast and setting from the beginning.
