The Fangover series by Erin McCarthy takes the classic “what happened last night?” setup and puts a vampire spin on it. In The Fangover, a group of vampire friends wake up after a bachelor party in Las Vegas to discover they have no memory of the previous night, a married couple among them who should not be together, and a missing groom. The sequel, Fangs for Nothing, continues the comedic chaos.
McCarthy leans hard into humor with this series, treating the vampire elements as a source of comedy rather than brooding drama. The books are fast reads with a tone closer to a screwball comedy than a traditional paranormal romance, though there is still plenty of heat between the romantic leads.
The two-book series works well as a lighthearted companion to McCarthy’s more expansive Vegas Vampires world. Readers looking for something short, funny, and heavy on the banter will enjoy both entries.
