The Faeriewalker series by Jenna Black is a YA urban fantasy set in a world where Avalon, the land of the Fae, exists as a real place between the human world and Faerie. Dana Hathaway discovers she is a Faeriewalker, the only person alive who can travel freely between all three realms. This makes her extremely valuable to Fae political factions who want to control her power.
Dana moves to Avalon to live with her Fae father and quickly finds herself caught in dangerous court politics. The five-book series, which includes the prequel novella Remedial Magic and the bonus short story Girls’ Night Out, mixes Fae mythology with teen coming-of-age elements. Black builds a version of Avalon that feels like a real city with its own social rules and power structures.
