Eric Wright’s standalone novels show the breadth of his interests beyond mystery fiction. Moodie’s Tale (1994) is historical fiction, while Finding Home (2007) follows a man’s search for his origins. The later novels, Dempsey’s Lodge and The Land Mine, explore life in Ontario from different angles.
These books gave Wright room to work outside the genre constraints of his mystery series. The writing is quiet and observational, focused on character and place rather than plot mechanics.
