Emma Kennedy’s non-fiction is dominated by humorous memoir. How To Bring Up Your Parents (2007) and The Tent, the Bucket and Me (2009) both mine her childhood for comic material, with the camping memoir becoming particularly popular. I Left My Tent in San Francisco (2011) extended the travel theme.
The Killing Handbook (2012) is an outlier, being a companion guide to the Danish crime drama. Letters From Brenda (2022) returned to family memoir, this time with a more reflective tone.
