Emma Donoghue’s anthology contributions span more than two decades, from the Eleventh Annual Collection in 1998 through to Fourteen Days: An Unauthorized Gathering in 2024. The thirteen titles cover considerable ground — poetry in Poems Between Women, Irish fiction in The Penguin Book of Irish Fiction, short stories focused on identity in How Beautiful the Ordinary, and collaborative fiction in Fourteen Days.
Several of the anthologies share an editorial focus on desire and relationships, including One Hot Second: Stories About Desire (2002) and Love Alters: Stories of Lesbian Love and Erotica (2013). The later entries Furies (2023) and Fourteen Days (2024) show Donoghue’s continued involvement in short-fiction anthologies well into her career.
