Emaneska is Ben Galley’s longest-running series, starting with The Written in 2010 and growing to twelve entries through 2023. The series is set in a frozen, hostile world where magic is bound to written words and mages hold enormous power. The early books, The Written, Pale Kings, and the two-part Dead Stars, establish the world and its conflicts.
The series expanded significantly with The Forever King (2020) and Heavy Lies the Crown (2021), which overlap with the Scalussen Chronicles. Later entries like The Iron Keys, The Weaver & The Wyrm, and A Feast For Wolves continue deepening the world. Galley also produced a graphic novel adaptation of The Written in 2014. For readers willing to commit to a long series, Emaneska offers a decade’s worth of dark fantasy storytelling.
