Ellen Klages is a regular presence in science fiction and fantasy anthologies. Her stories have appeared in the Firebirds series, The Time Traveler’s Almanac, and multiple year’s-best collections. Her work has also been featured in themed anthologies like The Coyote Road: Trickster Tales and Ex Libris: Stories of Librarians, Libraries, and Lore.
The list spans from 1998 to 2022, covering most of Klages’s active writing career. Bending the Landscape: Science Fiction (1998) was one of her earliest anthology appearances, while Someone in Time (2022) is one of the most recent. In between, she contributed to the Firebirds Rising (2005) and Firebirds Soaring (2009) anthologies edited by Sharyn November, which featured some of the best YA speculative fiction of their era.
Many of these anthologies are worth reading beyond just Klages’s contributions. The Time Traveler’s Almanac and The Mammoth Book of Time Travel SF both collect time-travel stories from dozens of authors, while The WisCon Chronicles documents the feminist science fiction convention where Klages has been a regular participant.
