Eden Robinson’s standalone novels show the range of her fiction. Monkey Beach (2000) is set on the northwest coast of British Columbia and follows a Haisla woman whose brother has gone missing at sea. The novel weaves together present-day searching with memories of childhood, creating a story that is both a family drama and a ghost story.
Blood Sports (2006) moves to Vancouver and into much darker territory, telling a story about the drug trade and violence with Robinson’s characteristic refusal to look away from hard realities. Remember You Will Die (2024) is her most recent novel. Across all three books, Robinson writes about people living on the margins, where everyday survival is itself an act of resistance.
