Echo World was one of Lindsey Sparks’ first series, with the opening book published in 2013 under her Lindsey Fairleigh pen name. The story centers on a protagonist who can travel through time, and much of the action takes place in ancient Egypt. Romance and historical settings drive the early books, while the mythology and time travel mechanics grow more involved in later entries.
The series stretched over eight years, with the fifth and final book, Dissonance, arriving in 2021. That long span meant the writing evolved considerably from start to finish. Early books lean toward straightforward time travel romance, while the later entries take on bigger questions about fate, free will, and the consequences of changing the past. Echo World laid the groundwork for the Egyptian mythology that Sparks would revisit in both the Kat Dubois Chronicles and the Fateless Trilogy.
