The Dray Prescot series by Kenneth Bulmer, written under the pen name Alan Burt Akers, is one of the most expansive planetary romance sagas in science fiction. Beginning with Transit to Scorpio in 1972, the series follows Dray Prescot, an Earthman who is transported to the planet Kregen, a world of warring empires, flying ships, and alien civilizations beneath two suns.

Over fifty-two books, Prescot rises from shipwrecked stranger to a figure of power and influence on Kregen, battling through wars, political intrigues, and encounters with alien species. The series is organized into multiple cycles, each covering a different phase of Prescot’s life on Kregen. Later books were published posthumously, completing storylines Bulmer had planned before his death in 2005.
