The Dhamon Saga by Jean Rabe is a Dragonlance trilogy that follows Dhamon Grimwulf, a former Dark Knight trying to find his place in the changed world of Ansalon. The trilogy begins with Downfall (2000), continues with Betrayal (2001), and ends with Redemption (2002). A dragon scale embedded in Dhamon’s leg threatens to transform him, and much of the story concerns his race to find a cure.
The series is set during the Age of Mortals, after the events of the War of Souls. Rabe populates the books with a cast of rogues and outcasts who accompany Dhamon, including draconians and kender. The Dhamon Saga is one of Rabe’s best-known Dragonlance contributions and shows her ability to write morally complex characters within the shared-world setting.
