The Dr. Pippa Durrant series is a trilogy of mystery thrillers by Miranda Rijks, all published in 2019. The books follow Dr. Pippa Durrant, a forensic psychologist who specializes in reading micro expressions and detecting lies. She studied micro expressions during her PhD and uses that training to act as a human polygraph, a skill that regularly draws the attention of police investigators.
Each book presents a new case. In Fatal Fortune, Pippa becomes a suspect when her photograph is found on the body of a murdered lottery winner. Fatal Flowers takes her to a garden center where a seemingly random killing exposes the deadly secrets of the family who owns the business. In Fatal Finale, a talented young violinist goes missing from a music academy, and the police ask Pippa to help figure out who is behind the disappearance.
The series has been compared to the work of Lisa Gardner, Mary Stone, and Patricia Cornwell. All three books are also available as a box set.
