Diane Ackerman is an American author, poet, and naturalist whose work spans nature writing, poetry, and science communication. These anthology contributions show her range across edited collections and multi-author projects. A Convergence of Birds (2001) and When The Wild Comes Leaping Up (2002) focus on the natural world, while In the Arms of Words: Poems for Disaster Relief (2005) collected poetry in response to crisis.
Common Wealth: Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania (2005) gathered poets writing about the state, and Hope Beneath Our Feet (2010) addressed environmental themes. Wonder and Other Survival Skills (2012) continued Ackerman’s interest in the connection between science and human experience. Ackerman was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2016.
