The DI Bliss series is Tony J. Forder’s flagship crime fiction sequence. Bad to the Bone (2017) introduces Jimmy Bliss, a detective returning to Peterborough after a stint away, immediately thrown into a disturbing case. The series has grown to thirteen books through The Honourable Rogue (2025).
Forder writes in the tradition of British police procedurals, with each book presenting a new case while developing Bliss as a character. The Scent of Guilt (2018), If Fear Wins (2018), and The Reach of Shadows (2019) followed quickly, establishing a regular publishing pace.
