Dana Schwartz took over Marvel’s Deadpool title in 2018, writing a run that was collected into three English-language volumes: Mercin’ Hard for the Money, Good Night, and Weasel Goes to Hell, all published in 2019. Polish-language editions were also released. Schwartz brought her comedic sensibility to Wade Wilson, balancing the character’s trademark humor with genuine stakes.
The run covers Deadpool’s mercenary work, his complicated friendships, and (in the third volume) a trip to the underworld involving his sidekick Weasel. Schwartz was one of few women to write the character at that point, and her background in humor writing gave the series a distinct voice.
