David Yoon’s standalone novels span both YA and adult fiction. His YA books, Frankly in Love (2019) and Super Fake Love Song (2020), deal with identity and belonging through the lens of Korean-American teenage life. His adult novels take different directions: Version Zero (2021) is a tech thriller about a programmer who tries to reset the internet, and City of Orange (2022) is a post-apocalyptic story about a man piecing together his memories.
The four novels show Yoon’s range as a writer. His YA work is warm and character-driven, while his adult fiction leans toward speculative concepts and darker scenarios. Each book stands on its own with a distinct premise and setting.
