The David Sarac duology is a departure from Anders de la Motte’s Game Trilogy, moving from tech-conspiracy thrillers into the world of intelligence operations. MemoRandom (2014) introduces David Sarac, a handler for the Swedish security police who loses his memory after a car crash. With his network of informants exposed and powerful people wanting them silenced, Sarac has to piece together who he was before the accident.
Ultimatum (2015) picks up the threads, raising the stakes as Sarac’s past catches up with him. The two books are tightly connected and best read in order. De la Motte’s law enforcement background shows in the procedural details, and the series offers a grittier, more grounded take on the spy thriller format than most.
