The David Morton series is a five-book run of espionage thrillers by Gordon Thomas, published between 1992 and 1996. Thomas, better known for his investigative non-fiction about intelligence agencies, brought that research background to bear in these novels. The series begins with Deadly Perfume and Godless Icon (both 1992) and continues through Voices in the Silence, Organ Hunters (both 1994), and Poisoned Sky (1996).
The novels feature David Morton as an intelligence operative navigating international threats. Thomas’s decades of reporting on the Mossad, CIA, and other agencies give the fiction an informed quality that separates it from more speculative spy thrillers.
