The Dark Talents trilogy opens with At the Table of Wolves (2017), which introduces Kim Tavistock, a woman with the ability to sense hidden truths. In this alternate 1930s, certain individuals possess supernatural abilities called Talents, and both Britain and Nazi Germany are racing to weaponize them. Kim is recruited by the intelligence services to infiltrate a country estate where a dangerous conspiracy is taking shape.
Serpent in the Heather (2018) sends Kim on a new mission as gifted children begin disappearing across England, and the investigation leads her into darker corners of the Talent community. Nest of the Monarch (2019) concludes the trilogy with Kim operating behind enemy lines in Germany, facing a Nazi program that has learned to exploit the most dangerous Talents of all. Kenyon grounds the supernatural elements in period detail, making the series feel as much like a John le Carre thriller as a fantasy novel.
