Daniel H. Wilson’s standalone novels cover a wide range within science fiction. A Boy and His Bot (2011) and Code Lightfall and the Robot King (2011) are children’s books that bring Wilson’s love of robots to a younger audience. Amped (2012) is an adult thriller set in a near-future America where brain implants have created a new underclass of enhanced humans facing discrimination.
The Andromeda Evolution (2019) is Wilson’s authorized sequel to Michael Crichton’s The Andromeda Strain. Wilson was chosen by the Crichton estate to continue the story, which follows a new team of scientists confronting another outbreak of the alien microorganism deep in the Amazon jungle. His most recent standalone, Hole in the Sky (2025), adds another entry to his growing body of sci-fi work. Each of these books stands on its own without requiring any prior reading.
