The Dane Maddock Elementals trilogy brings together characters from multiple David Wood and Sean Ellis series for a connected three-book arc. Dane and Bones team up with Nick Kismet (from Ellis’s solo series) and Jade Ihara to track down four artifacts older than recorded civilization, each tied to a classical element. A shadowy group called Prometheus is after the same relics, and the race carries the heroes from South Africa to Antarctica and beyond.
Outpost kicks things off with a mysterious discovery off the South African coast. Arcanum raises the stakes with a pyramid emerging from Antarctic ice and an occult riddle linked to immortality. Magus wraps the trilogy with a search for the Emerald Tablet in the tomb of history’s most famous conqueror. The supernatural elements are stronger here than in the typical Dane Maddock book, giving the trilogy its own distinct flavor.
