Dalton Fury’s non-fiction writing consists of Kill Bin Laden, published in 2008. The book is a firsthand account of the Battle of Tora Bora in December 2001, written by the Delta Force commander who led the ground assault. Fury describes the small team of special operators who tracked Osama bin Laden into the caves of eastern Afghanistan and came close to capturing or killing him before he slipped across the border into Pakistan.
The book was a bestseller and remains one of the most detailed accounts of that particular operation. Fury wrote under his pen name to protect his identity, as is common among special operations veterans. Kill Bin Laden gives readers a ground-level view of what went right, what went wrong, and the frustrations of fighting in some of the most difficult terrain on earth.
