Craig Thomas (1942-2011) was a Welsh author of Cold War thrillers. His most famous novel, Firefox, tells the story of an American pilot sent to steal a Soviet fighter jet and was adapted into a film by Clint Eastwood in 1982. Thomas also wrote the Mitchell Gant and Kenneth Aubrey series of espionage novels.
Predicate is an anthology contribution from Thomas published in 2007. Before becoming a full-time writer, Thomas worked as an English teacher at several grammar schools in the West Midlands. He left teaching in 1977 after the success of his early novels, including Rat Trap and Wolfsbane.
