Claire McNab’s four standalone novels sit apart from her mystery and thriller series, leaning toward romance and literary fiction. The earliest, Under the Southern Cross (1992) and Silent Heart (1993), came out during the height of her Carol Ashton run and reflect her interest in lesbian relationships beyond the crime genre.
Writing My Love appeared in 2006, and Aspects of the Heart was published posthumously in 2020, the year after McNab’s death. The four novels can be read in any order and require no familiarity with her series work.
