Unnatural Ends (2022) is a standalone mystery by Christopher Huang. Sir Lawrence Linwood is found murdered in his study, killed with a medieval mace from his own collection. His will contains an unusual clause: the estate goes to whichever of his three adopted children – Alan, Roger, or Caroline – solves his murder. What follows is part family drama, part puzzle mystery as each sibling pursues the truth for their own reasons.
The novel draws on the classical mystery tradition that Huang is known for, with a closed circle of suspects and plenty of red herrings. It can be read independently of the Eric Peterkin series.
