We Are Not Like Them (2021) announced Christine Pride as a fiction writer worth following. Co-written with journalist Jo Piazza, the novel handles the familiar story of an interracial friendship with care, refusing easy resolutions and keeping both women fully human through a situation designed to divide them. It was a Good Morning America Book Club pick and sold widely.
You Were Always Mine (2023) continues the collaboration with Piazza and moves the focus to a woman who discovers a secret that changes her understanding of her family. All the Men I’ve Loved Again (2025) is Pride’s first solo novel, showing the independence she has built since her debut. Across three books, her fiction has established a consistent interest in the ways American social life puts pressure on the relationships women most depend on.
