Celia Anderson’s standalone novels show her range within women’s fiction. The Secret Gift of Lucia Lemon (2021) follows a fifty-eight-year-old woman who receives a mysterious package from an old friend containing cash, maps, and a compass that no longer points north. Coming Home to Mistletoe Cottage (2022) is a cozy Christmas story. Both books have the same warm, character-driven style as her Pengelly series.
Starting in 2024, Anderson shifted toward stories about women in their fifties, sixties, and beyond. Life Begins at 50! kicked off a loosely connected set of books set in the village of Willowbrook, where a group of friends Anderson calls the “Saga Louts” are determined to blast through their later years with plenty of mischief. Onwards and Upwards, Living the Good Life, and Life in the Old Girls Yet continue following these characters through new adventures, including a road trip through France.
