Blood Valley is a short Western series that started in 1988 and picked up again more than twenty years later with two new entries in 2009 and 2010. The books are set in rough, violent stretches of frontier territory where law and order barely exist.
The long gap between the first book and its follow-ups gives this series an unusual publishing history. The original Blood Valley was a William W. Johnstone solo effort, while Six Ways from Sunday and Savage Guns came out after J.A. Johnstone joined as co-author. Each book stands alone well enough that the gap does not matter much for new readers.
