The Biscuit McKee Mystery series ran from 2003 to 2018 across eleven books, all set in the fictional town of Martinsville, Georgia. Biscuit is a librarian who keeps finding herself tangled up in local crimes. Her cat Marmalade provides a second point of view in each book, offering feline observations on the human drama.
Each title follows a color theme, starting with Orange as Marmalade and running through the spectrum to White as Ice. The series is firmly in the cozy mystery tradition: small-town setting, an amateur sleuth, and no graphic violence. Stewart published the first six books between 2003 and 2014, then released the final five in quick succession in 2014 and 2018.
