Bill of the Dead picks up Bill Ryder’s story after the conclusion of the Tome of Bill series. The supernatural world has changed since Bill’s last big showdown, and new threats are rising that make his old vampire problems look simple by comparison. Starting with Strange Days in 2019, the series puts Bill back in the middle of supernatural chaos while he’s still trying to figure out basic adulting.
The four-book series keeps the same irreverent tone that made the Tome of Bill popular, with Bill cracking jokes while facing increasingly dangerous enemies. Gualtieri raises the stakes from the original series while staying true to the character of a guy who never really wanted to be a hero but keeps getting dragged into it anyway.
