This set of Battlestar Galactica tie-in novels is based on the reimagined television series that ran from 2003 to 2009. Jeffrey A. Carver wrote the novelization of the miniseries pilot, which tells the story of the Cylons’ devastating attack on the Twelve Colonies and the surviving fleet’s desperate escape under the protection of the aging battlestar Galactica.
The subsequent books expand on the TV series with original stories. The Cylons’ Secret and Sagittarius Is Bleeding were published in 2006, while Unity followed in 2007. Each novel gives readers a deeper look at the fleet’s struggle for survival, the tense politics among the survivors, and the ever-present threat of Cylon infiltration. For fans of the show who wanted more time in that universe, these books fill in gaps between episodes and explore corners of the story the TV series did not always have time to cover.
