Kevin Crossley-Holland’s Arthur Trilogy begins with The Seeing Stone, where young Arthur de Caldicot discovers an obsidian stone that shows him visions of the legendary King Arthur. Set in the borderlands between England and Wales at the turn of the thirteenth century, the story weaves Arthurian myth into the fabric of medieval daily life.
At the Crossing Places continues Arthur’s journey as he prepares to leave home, while King of the Middle March follows him on the Fourth Crusade. Throughout the trilogy, the parallels between the two Arthurs deepen as both face questions of loyalty, identity, and what it means to do right.
The series won the Carnegie Medal and has been praised for its richly detailed historical setting and its inventive approach to Arthurian legend.
